Add an Online Giving Button to Your Church Website | ChurchBooks3

Add an online giving button to your church website in about 5 minutes — no developer needed. Step-by-step setup for your ChurchBooks3 giving page.

How to Add a Giving Button to Your Church Website

If someone visits your church website and wants to give right now, how many clicks does it take them? For a lot of churches, the honest answer is "too many" — or the giving link goes to a generic page that doesn't even look like it belongs to your church.

An online giving button on your own website makes it easy

ChurchBooks3's Online Giving Page fixes that. In about five minutes, you can set up a branded giving page with your church's name, logo, and colors, plus a ready-to-paste "Give Now" button for your website. No developer needed, and it works on every ChurchBooks3 plan — including your trial.

What You Get

  • A giving page at your own link (app.churchbooks3.com/give/your-church-name)
  • A styled "Give Now" button you can paste straight into your website
  • A QR code for bulletins, signage, or print materials
  • Payments processed through your existing Givelify connection — nothing new to set up there

Step 1: Find the Giving Page Setup

Log in to ChurchBooks3 and go to Church Operations → Giving & Donations. You'll see a new Online Giving Page section.

Step 2: Fill In Your Church's Details

You'll be asked for a few simple things:

  • Your church's display name
  • A logo (if you've already uploaded one for your Member Portal, ChurchBooks3 will reuse it)
  • A short welcome message for visitors
  • Which fund or funds gifts should post to

If you're already connected to Givelify, you don't need to set up payments again — ChurchBooks3 uses that same connection.

Step 3: Get Your Link, Button, and QR Code

As soon as you save your details, ChurchBooks3 generates your page and gives you everything you need to share it:

  • Your live link, with a Copy Link button
  • An HTML snippet for a styled Give Now button, sized to paste into most website builders' "custom HTML" block — this works in Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, and most church website platforms
  • A QR code you can drop into your bulletin or hang in your lobby

Step 4: Add the Button to Your Website

This is the step that actually matters — a giving page nobody can find doesn't do much good. Most churches get the best results putting the button in one (or both) of these spots:

  • Your main menu, so it's visible from every page
  • Your homepage, especially near the top

If your website builder has a "custom HTML" or "embed code" block, paste the snippet there. If you're not sure where that option lives on your specific platform, most builders call it something like "Embed," "Custom Code," or "HTML Block" — check your builder's own help docs, or reply to any of our emails and we're happy to point you in the right direction.

Step 5: Try It Yourself

Before you consider yourself done, click your own button and walk through the giving flow once. You'll land on your branded page, see your church's name and logo, and get handed off to Givelify to complete a gift. It's worth confirming everything looks right before your congregation sees it.

What Happens When Someone Gives

A visitor clicks your button, lands on your branded page, chooses a fund (if you've enabled more than one) and an amount, and completes their gift through Givelify. The transaction posts to your ledger the same way your current Givelify-sourced gifts already do — nothing changes on the accounting side.

Why This Is Worth Five Minutes

A generic giving link doesn't feel like it belongs to your church, and every extra click between "I want to give" and "I gave" is a chance for someone to change their mind. A branded page with your own name and logo builds trust — and having it live on your own site, in your own menu, makes giving one click away instead of a search.
